The advantages of multi-system compatibility satellite positioning receiver

(1)   The number of visible satellites doubled: The total satellites used in navigation positioning will double after the completion of GLONASS satellite constellation network. If only with the GPS system above the horizon, the visible satellites are 7-11 generally. But the number will be 14-20 with the GPS+GLONASS system. In mountain areas or cities, sometimes obscured by obstacles, GPS system can’t work, but the GPS+GLONASS system can.

(2)   Increases the production efficiency.

(3)   Increases the reliability of observed result: The reliability of measuring positioning is based on the numbers of satellites. So the GPS+GLONASS can increase the reliability of observed result greatly.

(4)   Increases the precision of observed result: The geometric distribution (DOP values) of stations related to the observed satellites affects the precision of observations directly. The more satellites can be observed, the greater the geometric distribution of stations related to the observed satellites improved, thereby can enhance the precision of observations.
